FL-IF = Diamonds that are Flawless or Internally Flawless. These are the best.
VVS1-VVS2 = Diamonds have tiny flaws that are not visible to the naked eye.
VS1-VS2= Diamonds have tiny flaws not visible to the naked eye.
SI1-SI2 = Slightly Included, or slightly flawed diamonds.
I1 = Inclusions, or flaws, that can be seen by the naked eye. Most I1 still sparkle nicely.
I2 = Lower grade than I1.
I3 = Lower grade than I2.
What many of us have found while shopping for diamonds is that the chain-stores often have lesser quality diamonds, offered for sale at higher prices, than smaller jewelry stores have.
